Internships
Dr. Schultzel offers an enriching internship to aspiring premedical, pre-PA, and pre-health (nursing) students. The interns will have the valuable opportunity to:
- Observe the surgeons and physician assistants in action, both in the office setting and the the operating room.
- Gain hands-on experience in the clinic by taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with various procedures.
- Collaborate with medical students and physician assistant students in the clinic, providing a valuable glimpse into their future academic pursuits.
- Build a strong foundation for their applications by earning compelling letters of recommendation from experienced healthcare professionals.
The internship opportunities are available at our conveniently located offices in Kearny Mesa, Encinitas, and Temecula.
Students
We include students from UCSD’s “Take A Triton to Work Day”, serving our UCSD Alumni community since 2019, as well as medical students from UC San Diego, Touro University School of Medicine (California and Nevada), and Rocky Mountain University PA Program.
We also welcome international medical students, residents, fellows, and attending physicians, having hosted students from Australia, Japan, Philippines, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Ireland, and the UK.
We are immensely proud to “pay it forward” and empower the next generation of medical professionals to achieve their aspirations. Patients seeing Dr. Schultzel will also be able to interact with these bright young future doctors, as they are often assisting in clinic and surgery.
